Do You Qualify?

The Pets In Need Veterinary Clinic exclusively serves the pets of eligible elderly, disabled, and low-income Rhode Islanders. Pet owners that are receiving assistance from a valid federal or state program listed below will qualify. Animals will be seen by appointment only and owners will need to bring documentation of qualification.

In order to qualify for support from the PIN Clinic, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a Rhode Island resident

A valid Rhode Island ID must be presented at the time of appointment.

2. Be on one (or more) of the following forms of assistance:

Unfortunately, pets whose owners cannot provide documentation of assistance will not be eligible for services. *Temporary disability and unemployment do not qualify.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)


Home Energy Assistance Program

Housing Assistance (Section 8 Housing)

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Disabled Veterans (need to show ID)

Child Care Assistance Program

3. Spay/Neuter Policy

All pets must be spayed or neutered with six (6) months of your first appointment at Pets in Need. We are happy to provide you with an estimate for this procedure or refer you to another low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Failure to comply with this policy will automatically disqualify you from receiving services at Pets in Need.
