Camp Happy Tails introduces kids to the wonders and wows of the animal kingdom while learning compassion and respect for the world around them. Our hands-on educational programs allow kids to explore behind the scenes at the Potter League and unleash a love for making a difference in animals’ lives.

POTTER LEAGUE Full Day Sessions:  9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Potter League
$250 per week  (Extended day available from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for $10 per day.)

YMCA Camp:  9:00 am to 4:00 pm, half day at the Potter League and half day at the YMCA, Middletown - $235 per week (Extended day available from 4:00 to 5:00 pm for $10 per day.)

Games Pets Play
Kids and pets are a lot alike- they both just want to have fun! Learn about the games pets play with their favorite humans then design and make your own versions of fun toys and games to enjoy with your pets.

Feathers and Fur
Learn about the things that make our companion pets unique. Discover our pets’ wild roots and how those characteristics affect their behavior.

Keeping Pets Happy and Healthy
Do you know what you and your pet needs to stay healthy and happy? Explore the importance of food, exercise and training to accomplish a balanced lifestyle for you and your favorite friends.

Games for Pet and You
Animals want to have fun just like you! Do you have ideas for games or toys you would like to explore? Share your ideas and learn about other games to play with your animal friends.

Training Bootcamp
Would you like to learn how to train your family pet, or even a family member? Investigate how training can be fun and valuable for pets and their families.

Furever Friends
Celebrate the relationships humans have forged with the animals in their lives! Learn how to nurture the relationships with our furry and feathered friends by understanding how their unique characteristics affect behavior and care.

Behind the Scenes
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be an animal at Potter League? Investigate an animal’s path through Potter League from intake through adoption by examining the roles of the humans they have contact with.

At Your Service
There are animals among us making significant contributions to the community as service workers. Meet these specially trained animals and the humans they are helping.

Registration

Submit a registration form with complete payment  to reserve your child’s space in camp. Registration forms can be obtained by clicking on the link below or at the shelter (87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown). Completed forms and payment can be mailed to P.O. Box 412, Newport, RI 02840, faxed to 401-367-0122, or emailed to EleanorH@PotterLeague.org.

Once the form and payment have been received and processed, you will receive a confirmation email. Attached to the email will be the additional camp forms (pick-up list, medical forms, releases, etc.), which are due at least 7 days prior to the start of your child’s camp week.
