Construction Progress
Part of the extensive air handling system is being installed above a section of the new obedience training center. 100% fresh air will be climate controlled with 10-12 air exchanges per hour. The system will provide even temperatures without extreme swings, inhibit the growth of bacteria & virus and limit drafty conditions.
The infrastructure of the new building includes several complex systems. Pictured here are three sets of water pipes. One is for potable or drinking water. A second is connected to the cistern system and will circulate non-potable water to be used primarily for cleaning purposes. The third set is connected to the pump room for the fire suppression system and supports the sprinkler system.
The week of April 27, our main driveway will be torn up and water pipes. Because of State Airport height restrictions, we will also be burying electrical and cable lines underground. A new gas line will soon be laid. All the asphalt from the driveway will be recycled. Crews are shingling the exterior of the building. The electrical and alarm crews are finishing up so sheetrock can soon be installed. HVAC crews continue to lay out an intricate duct system. Insulation is also being installed.

The shelter will stay operational throughout construction with the new facility being built around it. Upon its completion, Phase II of demolition will bring down the rest of the old building. We anticipate completion of the entire project in the fall of 2008.
