Rhode Island animal lovers have something to be proud of - a new spay/neuter clinic has opened in Warwick to provide services for the animals of the Rhode Island community. The Ocean State Animal Coalition (of which the Potter League is a member) has been planning the clinic for well over a year.
The mission of the Coalition and the Spay/Neuter Clinic is to end pet overpopulation by providing high quality, subsidized companion animal and feral cat sterilization services. The goal is to ensure a non-lethal solution to homeless, abandoned and feral animal populations so that euthanasia is no longer an acceptable means of population control.
So what does it mean for Rhode Islanders? Subsidized pricing is now available for dog, puppy, kitten and cat sterilizations at a state-of-the-art facility which performs high quality surgeries. All the fees for dogs include rabies, distemper and parvo vaccinations. All cat fees include rabies and distemper vaccinations. There are special price packages for pit bulls and feral cats.
Free transportation is also available from a central pick-up location. To learn more visit the Clinic’s website: www.RICSNC.org or call 369-7297 to set up an appointment.
The Rhode Island Foundation was instrumental in providing funds to help establish the clinic. Additional funding was provided by ASPCA ad PetSmart Charities.
