2012 Happy Tails Day Camp is now Open!
Camp Happy Tails introduces kids to the wonders and wows of the animal kingdom while learning compassion and respect for the world around them. Our hands-on educational programs allow kids to explore behind the scenes at the Potter League and unleashes a love for making a difference in animals' lives.
Two sessions are available. Half Day Sessions are held at the Potter League. All Day Sessions are held in conjunction with the Newport County YMCA with half day at the Potter League and half day at the YMCA. Discover how animals talk to us using sound and body language, and learn how to decode what they’re trying to say.
Crazy Critters
Focus on our unique, pocket-sized pets. Meet cats, dogs, birds, and small mammals to determine their needs and how they are different.
Best Friends
Learn all about our favorite pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and small mammals.
Grades 4, 5, & 6
Click & Treat
Learn how to train many different kinds of animal, including dogs, cats, birds, and even people, using a clicker and lots of treats.
Paws for Animals
Explore how you can make a difference in the lives of animals, including projects to help pets right here at the Potter League.
Behind the Scenes
Learn about the jobs of veterinary technicians, adoption counselors, dog trainers, volunteers, and veterinarians.
Each session is packed with educational activities, fun animal-themed games and crafts, and of course, the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the animals at our shelter.
Enrollment is $220 per child for All Day Session and $120 per child for Half Day Session. Please download and return the Registration Form with payment to reserve a space. Limit 16 campers per session.
Additional camp forms must be turned in 7 days prior to the first day of camp.
