Be Kind to Animals Poster Contest

"Be Kind to Animals” Poster Contest 2014

The Potter League for Animals is hosting its 7th annual “Be Kind to Animals Week” Poster Contest! The competition is open to grades 2 through 12 as part of the Be Kind to Animals Week, May 4 - 10. The deadline for entry will be Thursday, April 17th

The themes for all grades are:

Don't Shop. Adopt!

Each year 7-8 million pets enter shelters around the country. If your family decides that they would like to get a new pet, instead of heading to the pet store, consider a pet in need at your local animal shelter! Winning entries will display the benefits of adopting a pet from a shelter.

or

Save a Critter. Don’t Litter!

Trash is a serious danger to both wildlife and pets. Animals can easily get tangled in it or swallow it, and become trapped, hurt or even killed. Among the most harmful pieces of trash are plastic 6-pack holders, plastic bags, balloons, glass, cans, and plastic containers. To protect animals, we all must dispose of our garbage properly and pick up litter when we see it. Winning entries will display the dangers of litter and/or how people can help clean up the environment for animals.

An awards ceremony will take place at the Potter League’s Education Center on Tuesday, May 6th. Anastacia Southland, Humane Educator at the Potter League will present the awards.
