Dog Obedience Classes
The Potter League offers free basic obedience instruction to all Potter League dog adopters. This special class for adopters only offers the opportunity to talk to a professional trainer regarding any behavior problems dogs may be exhibiting. Classes are held on a drop-in basis: whether you adopted this week or last year. Potter Adopter classes are held every Saturday and Sunday at the Potter League from 1 to 2 p.m.
The Potter League also offers group training classes that are open to any owner and their canine companion over the age of 9 months. Classes run for 5 and 6 weeks, and cost between $90 and $110. Check the Calender of Events section of the website for for details and to learn when the next session begins.
Puppy Kindergarten … Periodic 5 & 6 week puppy classes focus on socialization, good manners and fun! Puppies between the age of 8 weeks and 9 months will receive a lot of playtime, and the owners will learn to understand and effectively deal with the stages of puppy development. This course is available free to puppies adopted from the Potter League. The fee ranges from $90 to $110 for all others. Check the Calender of Events section of the website for for details and to learn when the next session begins.
Specialty Classes … For fun and training we suggest Agility and Rally-O. These have been very popular classes. Short programs that teach recall, loose leash walking, tricks, and small breed play group are held for one or two classes. Other short programs offer tips to help annoying problems including barking, door dashing or possession of toys. Check the
