The State of Breed–Specific Legislation

Presented by Lee Greenwood, Legislative Attorney, Best Friends Animal Society
Wednesday, September 13th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm
at the Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown

Join us as Lee Greenwood from Best Friends Animal Society will be discussing the work that the Best Friends legislative team does to Save them All. He'll focus on the effort to fight breed discrimination and also touch on the work to save community cats and to put an end to puppy and kitten mills.

A legislative attorney for Best Friends, Lee Greenwood has been involved in the legislative process for his entire career, starting out in Washington, D.C., working for the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Budget Committee. After that, he worked for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in Alexandria, Virginia, as an attorney, helping to enact the organization's priorities on the state and federal levels. Most recently, he worked as a lawyer for a state representative at the State House in Boston, Massachusetts.

His experience in a variety of different governmental settings has helped him at Best Friends, where he specializes in dog- and cat-related laws, working as an advocate and lobbyist on local, state and federal legislation. In addition to his work for Best Friends, Lee volunteers with various animal adoption organizations based in Boston and Washington.
