Pet Visitation Program

For over 25 years, The Potter League for Animals has brought smiles and comfort to those who can no longer enjoy the companionship of an animal because of age, illness or their living situations.  Potter volunteers bring their own pets or adoptable animals on visits to Newport Hospital, local nursing homes, assisted living and long-term care facilities, group homes, and mental health centers.

The Potter League has many Pet Visitation volunteer opportunities. Special training is available for participants and their dogs. Animal volunteers have the opportunity to qualify for the Canine Good Citizens Certificate and Therapy Dog International.
